Social

We are quite socially active and hold monthly resident group meetings where views can be aired with local councillors and police. We often have guest speakers or themed meetings. We would extend a welcome to anyone interested enough to come along. This meeting is held at the Official's Club on the last Friday in the month at 7.00p.m. Occasionally there is a buffet and bar, depending on the type of meeting and of course funds.

For the past several months we have held a weekly coffee morning at the Methodist Chapel. This has proved a runaway success, so much so that one of our bakers in chief is exhausted. There is also a healthy living group and a savings club. We have organised a bus-trip to York this summer and a Christmas night out also.

Several members of our committee are representatives of the community at various groups and partnerships. We keep the resident's point of view as relevant at all times, and have the well being of the community as first priority.

We have recently donated £200 to the Easington Colliery Under 10's Football Team. This is a newly formed team of boys and girls. They have joined the Russell Foster League and at the moment are finding their feet. The money will sponsor the away strip. This is an example of a great initiative bringing people together with a common purpose. It helps discipline children and motivates team building. We need more initiatives like this.
